Coursera is introducing new features, which include:
Establishing and Grading Scale Assessments:AI Assessment Generator: This tool creates a variety of arithmetic, text, and multiple-choice tests and automatically incorporates them into assignments, saving teachers time. Alliance University is evaluating this functionality in order to swiftly create personalized course evaluations on a large scale.
Question Banks and Variants: These resources offer an extensive range of questions together with numerous variations to ensure thorough testing. They also make tests harder to predict and easier for authors to access.
AI-Assisted Grading: This method simplifies grading by recommending grades and comments based on assignment analysis; graders still have the final say in all matters.
Woxsen University is piloting a tool to strengthen academic integrity, including graded item locking, time and attempt limits, a proctoring and lockdown browser, and plagiarism detection. These measures promote comprehensive learning, prevent skipping ahead, and encourage independent thinking.
Coursera offers personalized tutoring, interactive learning assistance, AI peer reviews, and an AI-based Viva Exam to enhance learning and evaluation. It provides quiz prep, prior learning recaps, lecture summaries, guided practice, and tailored pre-assessment reviews, enabling educators to conduct viva-style written exams.
Coursera’s Managing Director for India and APAC, Raghav Gupta, said:
Our new capabilities for academic integrity offer a strong response to the potential and problems that come with GenAI. These days, educational institutions can use online learning more and more to close curricular gaps, customize instruction, and change credentials.
