The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national Apex Advisory Body with the goals of coordinating and integrating national development and conducting an assessment of the facilities available for technical education.
During the launch event, Professor Sitharam emphasized the goal of the plan, which is to support core engineering branches, according to a news release from the AICTE. He underlined the significance of these subjects in developing manufacturing sectors and the need of providing academic initiatives and scholarships to students pursuing them.
He said that the goal of the YASHASVI program is to assist students who excel in pursuing technical education in important engineering fields like mechanical, chemical, electrical, and civil engineering. Talented individuals are encouraged to enroll in these courses at technical colleges that have been recognized by the AICTE through the scholarship program.
Merit-based, the YASHASVI scholarship is a testament to academic brilliance. Degree-level candidates are picked on the basis of their remarkable 12th-grade credentials, whilst diploma-level candidates are selected on the basis of their remarkable 10th-grade performance.
Ten Statutory Boards of Studies support it: Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Information Technology, Town and Country Planning, Management Studies, UG Studies in Engineering and Technology, PG and Research in Engineering and Technology, Vocational Education, Technical Education, Pharmaceutical Education.
In order to keep the scholarship, students need to submit a letter from the head of their institution verifying their ongoing dedication to excellence together with their passing certificate or mark sheet.
Once a year, applications for the YASHASVI scholarship will be accepted. Eligible students must apply online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) as soon as the application process opens.
