Google has announced its plans to open up a Delhi cloud region. This is the company ‘s next cloud region in India because it launched the Mumbai region in 2017. The new cloud region is going to expand Google’s existing network that stands at 8 regions in the Asia Pacific and 22 regions globally.
Google cloud regions bring Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to global organizations in industries like media, entertainment, retail, and manufacturing, helping them drive growth, innovation, and differentiation for their business. As the company’s customers in India develop and diversify, Google will continue to advance and invest its cloud infrastructure to assist regulated industries like financial services and healthcare and public sector organizations across India to reach their goal.

GCP regions are the cornerstone of Google’s cloud infrastructure, and allow customers like TechMahindra, L&T Finance, Manipal Hospital Group, Royal Enfield, Reliance Mutual Fund, Truecaller, with a lot more to provide high performing, protected, low latency, cloud-based services to their users, wherever they are around the globe.
Projected to launch in 2021, the Delhi cloud region is going to have 3 zones to protect against service disruptions. The region will also feature a portfolio of key GCP solutions, offer reduced latency to nearby customers, and, when combined with the current region in Mumbai, allow geographically separate in-country disaster recovery for its customers’ mission-critical applications.
