Job Description: Manager, Data Engineering

Role Overview:

As Manager, Data Engineering, you will lead the translation of client requirements into design and implementation of Azure Cloud-based big data solutions. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality solutions by driving design discussions across various aspects of data engineering. This role requires hands-on expertise in Big Data solution architecture with a strong programming background in Java, Scala, or Python.

Your Impact:

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on implementation in data engineering, covering areas such as data ingestion, processing, visualization, and implementation.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality big data solutions on Azure Cloud, managing both functional and non-functional aspects.
• Establish standard data practices, including governance, data security, privacy, and quality.
• Manage and provide technical leadership for data program implementations using agile methodologies.
• Participate in client workshops to align stakeholders and propose optimal solutions.
• Contribute to consulting, soft skills development, thought leadership, and mentorship.
• Engage in people management, including hiring and capability building.

Your Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in data-related technologies, including 1+ years of expertise in Azure Cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of Big Data Architecture Patterns and experience in delivering end-to-end solutions on Azure Cloud.
• Expertise in programming languages like Java/Scala, with proficiency in Python being a plus.
• Proficiency in at least one distributed data processing framework such as Spark, Storm, or Flink.
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem in Azure Cloud distribution and working knowledge of big data ingestion tools like Sqoop, Flume, NiFi, etc.
• Familiarity with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, or cloud-based offerings like DynamoDB, BigTable.
• Exposure to development with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, orchestration, and Kubernetes engine is advantageous.
