Former Google Cloud COO Diane Bryant was appointed as the chairman and CEO of Neural Analytics, it is a medical robotics company that is commercializing and developing technology to calculate and track brain overall health.
Diane Bryant joins Neural Analytics after 6 months as Google Cloud’s chief operating officer, where she focused on scaling its Cloud platform against fierce competition from AWS and Microsoft Azure. She worked at chip giant Intel for more than 3 decades, departing the organization as being a president of the company’s data center group.
Neural Analytics has created a robotically assisted ultrasound system for the assessment of brain health, which is designed to calculate and display data about brain blood circulation, under the guidance of a healthcare specialist.
In an e-mail, Bryant stated she’d received 3 has to function as the CEO of businesses in different industries but was eventually fascinated by the promise of Neural Analytics.
What attracted me to Neural Analytics was the chance to positively influence lives in an area of substantial need – brain health. Our starting point among all of the different neurological illnesses is strokes. With the early diagnosis of a stroke by using robotics and AI, the moment from diagnosis to treatment is cut back and the patient outcome improved, she wrote.
Bryant included that the company’s technologies are going to help both people and doctors better identify brain-related illnesses, particularly bringing up Sean Maloney, her former Intel co-worker. Maloney was an Executive Vice President for Intel and also suffered a stroke in 2010.
As you might remember, our Intel CEO successor (to Paul Otellini) was Sean Maloney. Just 3 months prior to taking over as CEO he had a stroke. He identified the symptoms and went to the physician, though it wasn’t identified as a stroke. He was not able to take the role of CEO and also 5 years later is still recovering his speech. That all might have been prevented with treatments created by Neural Analytics. We are able to truly make a positive change in brain health. That is compelling!
Based on Crunchbase, the Los Angeles based company has elevated $73.7 million to date, from investors like Alpha Edison, Reimagined Ventures and UCLA Ventures. The firm has also got a grant through the National Institutes of Health.
Stepping down as CEO is going to be Leo Petrossian, who’ll stay with the organization as a president and co-founder.
She is going to continue serving on the board of directors for Broadcom, United Technologies Corporation and also the University of California, Davis Chancellor’s Board of Advisors, and the school’s College of Engineering Board of Advisors. Bryant also serves as a board member and an advisor to numerous technology startups.
