A Pilot Project for ushering around Industry 4.0 within the country has been launched with the Modern Coach Factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli district, the railways said on Saturday.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution known as Industry 4.0 is a name given to the current trend of Inter-connectivity, automation, and data exchange in manufacturing technologies for increasing productivity.
A complex cyber-physical system or Industry 4.0 synergies production with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, digital technologies, Analytics and Cloud Computing.
The Ministry of Railways and the Department of Technology and Science have joined partnership with IIT Kanpur for learning a distinctive task on ‘Industry 4.0′. They released the pilot task on Friday for implementation on the Modern Coach Factory, an official said.
Speaking on the event, Secretary Department of Science and Technology Ashutosh Sharma believed that his department has recently launched a new programme’ Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems(ICPS)’ to foster and increase R&D in this emerging field of research.
He also stated that 4000cr is expected to be invested in this field in the upcoming years.
