Twitter no, X has got only three employees in India and all of the three are work from home.
Twitter’s workforce in India has been dramatically reduced following Elon Musk’s acquisition of the company in late October. The fallout from this acquisition has left Twitter India with just three employees, all of whom are now working remotely from home.
After the acquisition, Musk wasted no time in making significant changes to Twitter’s global operations, including slashing the workforce in India. While the exact number of employees laid off in India hasn’t been officially disclosed by the company, sources suggest that approximately 170 out of 250 Twitter India employees, including those who were terminated and those who voluntarily resigned, are no longer with the company. The remaining 80 employees are reportedly facing challenges under Musk’s leadership.
Musk has implemented policies for the India offices that mirror those in the United States. However, insiders have indicated that the situation in India is not as dire as it is in Twitter’s San Francisco office. One notable change is the removal of “Days of Rest,” a monthly holiday on one Monday of each month that was previously enjoyed by Indian employees. This is just one of the several benefits that Musk has discontinued for the company’s workforce.
Furthermore, in the aftermath of the mass layoffs in November, Twitter India employees received an email notifying them that the company’s pantry, which used to provide free snacks, would be closed. This means that Twitter India employees no longer have access to complimentary snacks.
