I would not take too much of your reading time. However, as per my personal experience, the most best thing about the UpGrad data science program in collaboration with IIIT Bangalore was the doubt-clearing sessions. Trust me, data science involves coding and you get stitch multiple times. These frequent doubt-clearing sessions by the UpGrad trainers helped me a lot to sail throughout the whole course.
The video lectures were informative and seem like you were reading a book. They are very detailed and have been prepared by the best of the best in the data science domain. This helped me in learning the data science fundamentals quite easily. The assignments made me realise that I am on the right path.
A big No if I talk about their placements. They simply copy jobs from Naukri and Hirist. Don’t you think it’s a big joke UpGrad is doing to their learners?
These jobs most of the time land you directly on the Naukri page. Did I invest 2.6 Lacs for their PG Program in Data Science in collaboration with IBM just to get Naukri jobs? Not at all.
Newly started training companies are more viable than UpGrad. At least, you can do the same data science course at a much cheaper rate.
UpGrad is a total scam and I would say they are running the biggest education rackets in India. They put a lot of money into advertisements just to lure students and professionals with no quality placements. Why does an education company need to put crores of money into brand ambassadors and drama series? If you have got material into your courses along with good placements, people will themselves enroll in your courses by simply word of mouth.
Their counselors are the real culprits. The moment you take admissions into their programs, they will start ignoring your calls and after some time they will simply block you. And much to your frustration, at times their mentors will give you blunt replies that are not easy to fathom.
UpGrad is a big brand in the whole higher education segment with Amitabh Bachan as the brand ambassador. UpGrad is better known for there MBA, master’s, and degree programs along with education abroad. Courses at Upgrad are well structured and have been developed by the industry veterans like their excel course has been developed by Gramener CEO, Anand S. What better you can ask for!

The worst aspect of the Upgrad data science programme, in my opinion, is that students frequently miss class. The teachers only attend online sessions to kill time. They all pass off their courses as genuine while manipulating students’ emotions and offering a variety of tempting data science policies in the process. Students enroll in their courses with high expectations, however those expectations are not met by the course. Additionally, the teachers lack the expertise to even attempt to respond to the students’ questions. They will all start ignoring your calls once they’ve finished the course, and the staff is likewise careless. Despite offering their courses in such large quantities, they don’t offer adequate instruction.
One of their managers, in my own experience, is impolite. He lacks the social graces to treat students with respect. He simply sobbed over the youngsters’ careless errors.
Teachers’ methods of instruction are not particularly outstanding; they don’t even work with the kids. Be advised that the video lectures were not useful and seemed to be a waste of time; they lacked information and had been created by the worst experts in the field of data science. This makes it difficult for me to quickly master the basic of data science. My realization that I am wasting my time was brought on by the duties. Other platforms that provide online courses include Datatrained, Learnbay, and others besides Upgrad. Few of the modules have recorded videos because Upgrad mentions that they offer live sessions for a set number of hours.
Not all of the courses offer placement opportunities or even mentorship support. Additionally, there is an additional fee if you want personal mentoring from the specialists.
Since the course lasts a long time, working professionals should not take it.
The price of the course appears to be far too high for online tutoring. Additionally, paying such a large sum of money is not really conceivable for anyone in their financial situation.

I joined Upgrade for the Executive PG Program in Data Science. There is no fixed duration for this data science course. The course is in a blended form, which means there are both online and self-paced classes. Most types are self-paced classes, and those recorded classes are useless.
Upgrade divided the course into 5 elective specializations, and I chose Deep Learning. The teachers were not experienced and focused only on theoretical knowledge. There were only 10% practical classes, which is insufficient for learning Deep Learning concepts. It took 12 months to complete the course, and those 12 months was a complete waste of time.
The supporting team and teachers are not helpful and experienced. No learning with practical learning, and there are only 2 industry projects.
No, this is not a good data science course and is not designed as per industry standards. I am very disappointed after joining this course, and most students left it as it was a waste of time and effort.
There were considerable doubts while learning the completely new topics of data science. I mailed Upgrade to their given email address, but no one responded. I also used the “Talk to us” option on their website, but the number was always engaged. Their 24×7 support system is not working, and if someone somehow receives your call, they will not resolve your query. I never expected this kind of unprofessional behavior from Upgrade. Rest you can decide much better.
