Cloud computing can ease up your life in several ways, but at the same time cloud computing disadvantages also exist. A couple of things that can be disadvantageous would heavily depend on the way you use it.
For instance, network heavy applications can be charged a lot of money if they need to transmit huge amounts of data from one data center to another. it can very easily run into 100s of thousands of dollars.
If for some reason you require full access to bare metal servers you most probably want to get it. One of the major cloud computing disadvantages is that If your application has stringent SLAs to meet which your on prem equipment has been able to provide (maybe because of special customization you did) You might not be able to get that in the cloud. SLAs there are more geared towards general applications.
If you require a certain feature – and the cloud platform currently doesn’t provide it, you might have to wait for it (and you might be waiting a long time).
Security used to be a big concern for many applications, but over time cloud computing has matured into a product where it’s no longer a greater threat. Cloud platforms are well suited for general applications. They are very well designed specially for web based applications. However, if your application is a heavily customized one which requires a lot of customization you might not get what you need by migrating to cloud while your application as it is. You might need to re-architect your application to adapt to cloud capabilities OR opt for another application to do your bid.
Inshort, You have no control of anything. You can’t guarantee that your data won’t be stolen, lost or corrupted, because someone else now has control. The cloud is fine for data that you have backed up on hard drives that are in your possession and that isn’t anything that can cause you problems or cause you financial loss if they are breached or lost.
No matter what the cloud storage and cloud server companies claim, there is no way that they can unequivocally guarantee that your data will never be lost or breached. Such cloud computing disadvantages do exits and you should be smart enough to differentiate what is going right and what is going wrong

Here are some disadvantages of Cloud Computing
    Privacy and security
Even if cloud service providers are accredited, have rigorous confidentiality policies, and adhere to the highest security requirements, your data may still be in danger. As soon as you start utilizing cloud-based technology, a third party has access to your login credentials and can upload sensitive data from your PC to the cloud.
Hackers and other data thieves can come up with ways to get around security measures and access cloud-stored data. Literally, there is a higher danger of unauthorized access to cloud data, software, and apps than there would be if they were kept and maintained on internal servers. Additionally, if your service provider’s security is compromised, you can suffer losses and lose service.
    Downtime
All service providers occasionally experience service interruptions because of overloaded cloud servers, lost power, or slow internet access. Systems for cloud computing are completely dependent on internet connections, which means they could go down at any time. You won’t be able to access your cloud-based data, programmes, and applications once that occurs. A dependable internet connection is a requirement in order to access the servers in any other way. Regular slowdowns and outages might cause your company to lose a lot of money.
    Vendor lock-in
Moving from one vendor to another may be challenging for businesses. It may be difficult to configure, there may be maintenance issues, and there may be additional costs involved in moving services from one platform to another. Because vendor platforms vary, compromises made during the move may have exposed your data to attack. Additionally, if you cancel a service with some businesses, it can be extremely difficult to recover your data, programmes, and software from the cloud server.
    Costs
Cloud computing services can be pricey, especially when applied to brief or little tasks. Even if businesses gain from having fewer employees and paying less on infrastructure, the overall cost of the cloud service may be more than the money saved. Before choosing a cloud service, it is essential to contrast your current burden with how it will develop.
    Limited control
You transmit your data, assets, software, and apps when you sign up for cloud computing, giving up part of your control in the process. Backend infrastructures like firmware management and server shell access are completely in the service provider’s hands.
What you can do in the cloud might be restricted by end-user management guidelines and licence agreements from cloud service providers. Additionally, if your hardware or software malfunctions, the quality and speed of your cloud service may be affected.

Here are some significant challenges of using Cloud Computing:
    Performance Can Vary
When working in a cloud environment, your application runs on the server, providing resources to other businesses at the same time. Any discrimination could affect the performance of your shared resources.
    Technical Issues
Cloud computing technology is always prone to technical issues. The best cloud service provider companies also face this trouble despite having high maintenance quality.
    Security Threat in the Cloud
Another drawback of cloud computing services is its security risk. Before adopting cloud technology, One should be aware about that all sensitive information of their company will be shared with a third-party cloud computing service provider company. Hackers might hack this information.
    Downtime
Downtime considered also while working with cloud computing. Your service provider may face power loss, low internet connectivity, service maintenance, etc.
    Internet Connectivity
Good Internet connectivity is must in cloud computing. You can’t access the service without an internet connection. Also, you don’t have any other way to collect data from the cloud.
    Lower Bandwidth
Many cloud storage service providers restrain the bandwidth usage for their users. So, if your organization surpasses the given allowance, the additional charges could be costly.
    Lacks of Support
Cloud Computing companies fail to provide proper customer support. Moreover, they want their users to depend on online help, which can be a difficult job for a non-technical person.
Despite all the Cloud Computing disadvantages, we can’t deny the fact that Cloud Computing is the fastest-growing part of network-based computing. It dramatically benefits customers of all sizes: simple users, developers, enterprises, and all types of organizations. So, this technology is here to stay for a long time.
