Because I am a part of the upGrad alumni, I believe I am the best person to answer this issue. After noticing the Bitcoin/blockchain rise in 2018, I attended their Blockchain Technology course last year. I wanted to concentrate in blockchain technology after graduating from college with an IT career and completing my masters in Mumbai, so I decided to look for courses that I could do as a working professional, and today I’m doing well in my field.
Freshmen, mid-level managers, and senior executives can enrol in upGrad’s Advanced Certificate Program in Machine Learning, a 7-month program that prepares students to be industry leaders. They will teach you everything from scratch to advanced level and the best thing is this course id beginner friendly.
Apart from being a growing profession, data science invites students from various of disciplines, including computer science, economics, statistics, and science. You don’t have to feel left out if you don’t come from a data science background. You’ll be up to speed on everything you need to know about data science in just a few courses, certifications, and data science projects.
The majority of data science job roles necessitate the use of programming languages. For learning programming languages, I would not recommend relying on online classes. If you choose to learn programming languages through online classes, you risk wasting time on topics that aren’t necessary for data analysis. On the other hand, even online R and Python courses developed specifically for data science applications may not be suitable because they tend to gloss over some coding details that a person without a computer science background may be unaware of. I recommend enrolling in a reputable data science institute.
Don’t be fooled by numerous people selling courses who claim that data scientists aren’t coders. It is not valid, and it will never be true, that you can work in Data Science without knowing how to code. Of course, there are many other concepts to learn in addition to pure code, but coding is necessary to succeed in this industry. I’m also a professional trainer, so I’m speaking from personal experience.
Choose courses that will help you grasp the fundamentals of data science, such as R programming, data cleaning, analysis, regression, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Executive Data Science Specialization is a highly recommended course. This course does not require any prior data science background, and you will learn data science ideas and use them in the real world.
It can be intimidating to see your friends doing better with data than you as a newbie with no coding experience. You’d have to start from scratch learning data science and associated subjects. When you have a solid understanding and work with data, you are consistent and thorough, and you will almost certainly exceed everyone after you have gained subject-specific information.
Without coding experience, I suggest you not take the data science course. Believe me, it would be a total waste of time if you move forward with this. Programming is a very vital skill in the data science field. First learn to code then apply for a data science course.
Upgrade provides 11 different courses in data science which helps you in becoming data scientist. After reviewing all the courses i had selected 5 courses and then opted for one of them. The courses that i had selected were:-
#Masters in data science.
#Executive post graduate program in data science.
#Advanced certificate program in data science.
#Data science bootcamp.
#Executive post graduate program in data science and machine learning.
Although, you don’t need to have any experience about programming language before applying for these courses but if you have any coding experience then it is a plus point to you. I opted for Executive post graduate program in data science. It is a 12 months course.
Though I had no experience of coding but then also the experienced mentors of UpGrad made it easier for me to learn the skills of data science by solving my queries time-to-time. In my opinion Executive post graduate program is the best UpGrad data science course for both freshers and working professionals who want to switch their carrier in the field of data science.
