The major disadvantages and everyone’s concern about getting placed/changing roles.
I joined edvancer because a senior member at Edvancer personally told me that I would receive a 10–20% raise and that the field is expanding. I took out a loan because the fee was too high, around INR 1,20,000, and the most expensive among competitors. I spent one year, completed all assignments, received the PG certification Datascience, and that was the end of it.
In the industry, the edvancer certification has no value. We were given a few pdfs with interview questions (but no answers) and told to prepare for the interview on our own. They provided a link to a third-party website for resume creation, which produced a page resume that did not assist.
The course content does not go into great detail, but it does provide a good overview of the algorithms. When compared to other courses such as iNeuron, Applied AI, Jigsaw, and other well-known institutes, Edvancer has fallen far behind. The course was created in 2014, and there have been no major updates since then. Looking at the current situation, where new research papers are being published daily.
Mr. Lalit is the only good permanent faculty/co-founder. He is excellent at explaining the math behind the algorithm, but he does not teach live or in a classroom setting. He has recorded his videos, to which we should refer. Again, the concepts described were for fundamental algorithms. We have a classroom where we get new faculty for R, Python, ML, and Deep learning. Some were excellent at explaining, while others were only adequate, but we had no choice but to accept it and continue without complaint.
What bullshit! I have also taken courses from Edvancer and their content is far superior and updated to the latest techniques.
No idea but some of my colleague have done data science course from and it’s too basic as per their review.
