It depends on what you mean by “job.” You can always start your own business: if you are self-funded, no one will question your qualifications, and that has been my successful path. You can also use your skills to trade stocks, write data science books, or provide data science training or certifications. There is no guarantee that it will pay out, but if you really know your stuff, you could do well whether you have a Ph.D. and 50 years of experience or no degree / no certification.
No. It’s unrealistic to expect that obtaining any credential, no matter how good, will automatically lead to a decent data science career. Certifications, in general, are beneficial. Doing end-to-end data science projects on your own is more beneficial. So learn SQL and Python, as well as everything you need to know about arithmetic, statistics, coding, and databases. And then utilise Kaggle to obtain advice and ideas for your own end-to-end data science projects. You’ll acquire a job as a data scientist if you can do the job on your own. Most employers want to see that kind of experience before hiring you.
Certainly possible. But keep in mind that the most important thing is to learn the fundamentals of SQL and Python, which you can do on Coursera. Once you have a solid foundation in these areas, go for the Professional Certification and do more projects on your own to understand how data science concepts can be applied so that you can confidently succeed in your interview.
