Central Manufacturing Technology Institute director Dr. Nagahanumaiah here on Thursday said that this nation must be prepared on the development of indigenous systems to realize “Make in India” to come down with real spirit.
He was talking at the inaugural function of 3 day International Conference on Precision, Meso, Micro and Nano Engineering (COPEN-11) is organized for the Indian Institute of Technology Indore.
Nearly 300 scientific & academic students and industry leaders have gathered at IIT Indore for the conference.
The conference is a biennial wedge for scientific interaction for experts in the several fields of manufacturing, multi-scale modeling, and materials processing for precision manufacturing, emerging manufacturing techniques, micro-mechatronics, precision engineering, and smart manufacturing.
In this conference, 220 research documents, 12 keynote addresses, and 15 demos will likely be deliberated by the delegates and overseas participants from the Russian, America, UK, Japan, and Singapore are participating in the conference.
In his welcome address, IIT Indore director Prof Pradeep Mathur emphasized the demand for appearing micro and nano-systems for manufacturing.
Dr. Nagahanumaiah, who was the chief guest for the inaugural session, gave an introduction of the latest developments in the area of micro/nano-manufacturing in terms of production methods and key enabling technologies which drive the boundaries of the state of this art in mass-manufacturing of micro-scale and micro/nano-structured components.
Prof Satish T.S. Bukkapatnam, director, Texas A&M Engineering Experimentation Station (TEES) Institute for Manufacturing Systems on “Recent advancements in data science and Artificial Intelligence for Industry 4.0″ delivered the keynote speech.

In an additional keynote address was shipped by Harish Bajaj, deputy managing director, Mitutoyo South Asia. He clarified the job of metrology and precision manufacturing in high-end engineering applications, particularly on Internet of Things (IoT) enabled metrology.
Before this, pre-conference workshops were also performed on “Precision Micro and Smart Manufacturing and nano Engineering”. These workshops got an overwhelming effect with 44 and 70 participants register, respectively. In the later, over 50% of participants were from Industries.
