About the Role:
- The Data Analytics Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for providing actionable insights to various stakeholders, both internally and externally. They will be a part of the centralized data team at Freight Tiger and will oversee both the computation and publication layers for all FT products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the strategy, vision, architecture, and execution of the data platform and self-serve data analytics systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to fulfill data requirements, contributing to consumer user growth.
- Utilize data analytics tools such as PowerBI and Tableau to generate reports and dashboards.
- Work with large data systems, including SQL/T-SQL, Hadoop, Presto, Kafka, or Spark Engine (Azure Synapse/Databricks/HDInsight or other distributions).
- Provide relevant data to customers and business teams, assisting in the conceptualization and creation of visually appealing yet powerful dashboards.
- Solve ambiguous problems using data and offer practical business insights.
- Show enthusiasm for conducting proof of concepts (POCs) and introducing the latest software/tools in the market to enhance cost savings, job monitoring, logging, optimization, scalability, and customer experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies, data analytics tools, SQL, or any querying language, and ETL.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling, including star and snowflake schema.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and Scala.
- Excellent data visualization skills to present insights effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with machine learning models is a plus.
