About the Role:

  • The Data Analytics Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for providing actionable insights to various stakeholders, both internally and externally. They will be a part of the centralized data team at Freight Tiger and will oversee both the computation and publication layers for all FT products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategy, vision, architecture, and execution of the data platform and self-serve data analytics systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to fulfill data requirements, contributing to consumer user growth.
  • Utilize data analytics tools such as PowerBI and Tableau to generate reports and dashboards.
  • Work with large data systems, including SQL/T-SQL, Hadoop, Presto, Kafka, or Spark Engine (Azure Synapse/Databricks/HDInsight or other distributions).
  • Provide relevant data to customers and business teams, assisting in the conceptualization and creation of visually appealing yet powerful dashboards.
  • Solve ambiguous problems using data and offer practical business insights.
  • Show enthusiasm for conducting proof of concepts (POCs) and introducing the latest software/tools in the market to enhance cost savings, job monitoring, logging, optimization, scalability, and customer experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies, data analytics tools, SQL, or any querying language, and ETL.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling, including star and snowflake schema.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and Scala.
  • Excellent data visualization skills to present insights effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with machine learning models is a plus.
