Hedging in finance refers to the process of mitigating risks in investment by taking a counterbalancing position. In simpler terms, it means taking steps to protect oneself from potential losses. The main purpose of hedging is to manage risks and uncertainties associated with investments. By reducing the impact of market fluctuations, investors can protect their investments and ensure that they are not exposed to excessive risks. While hedging can help to minimize the potential losses, it can also limit the potential gains that could be achieved through an investment. Therefore, it is important for investors to weigh the pros and cons of hedging strategies before implementing them.

Product management is a discipline best learned by apprenticeship because it is first and foremost about pattern recognition – recognizing patterns of customer problems, markets, sales challenges, and priority conflicts inherent in a product life cycle. In short, the skills of product manager are all about judgment – demonstrating consistently excellent judgment as you apply and demonstrating mastery of a broad set of interdisciplinary leadership, technical, marketing, business strategy and common sense skills. These are required skills of product manager.
Let us go more deep into this topic and what is it all about!
Following are some points which emphasizes the efficiency and skills of product manager
Keep a good watch on the clock and the calendar. Communicate the deadlines to the development team and understand issues early enough. As you are the leader and these skills of product manager are developed slowly with experience .It is your job to get the product to the customer on time. That requires periodic meetings with the various stakeholders.
Meet with the sales teams from the field, the support teams and the customers to understand the problems firsthand. Product managers become the experts on the problem. This is probably one of the finest skills of product manager.
The product manager has to provide enough details on each ticket for the development team to cost the feature. The details might involve both text and UI mockups.
The prioritizing would require deep customer insights as well as understanding the competitive landscape. That means we have to read a lot of industry research, besides attending conferences and industry events. Analyzing the shortcomings is also one of the good skills of product manager
Once a product is ready for the launch, product managers work with product marketing managers and the rest of the marketing team to make sure the values are communicated properly.
As a feature gets built, work with the QA team to make sure the product was built to the spec. The testing head is your biggest ally.
Once it gets to the customer, product managers keep a close eye on the analytics dashboard to understand if the customers are using as per the expected lines. If not, be the first in the line to resolve issues and hand hold the product until it is mature.
Be proactive. I think it’s a really important trait to have. You are the owner. Either do it or delegate it. If you do not take the initiative, no one else will. Product managers are in the service industry; your role is to serve the teams. These are the skills of product manager which are needed in the industry today.

The product manager salary depends upon region to region. When it comes to Product management .It is an organizational function dealing with designing, planning, verification, forecasting, pricing, and product launch. This complete cycle is product management. This skill is all about having a shared understanding with your team and stakeholders about your product, for whom you are building it, and, most importantly, the importance of developing your product. Online learning can teach you what to do, but books can teach you the ‘why’ and reasoning behind the practices.
To earn a good amount in product manager salary, you must like and enjoy being with customers and, yes, sales and marketing people. You must also have a tolerance for ambiguity, and being analytical helps. The very best product managers are much stronger in synthesis than analysis — being able to put all the pieces together into a coherent whole that meets what the customer actually needs at the right cost vs. what they said they wanted and based on the skills one possesses determines product manager salary.
When it comes to product manager salary out here in India. One can be a PM straight after graduating from a top B-school (zero eng exp) but salary will not be high (15-20 LPA approx). One can be a PM after graduating from top B-school (2–4 years eng exp) and get paid well (25–30 LPA)if the company he/she joins is in the same domain as his/her exp. Advantage of graduating from a top B-school is that you will eventually (8 years eng+pm exp) get paid very well (40 LPA). The project manager salary at the fresher level also depends upon the institution which you have graduated from for e.g. IIM graduates are likely to get a leverage as the product manager salary would be high compared to non reputed institutions.
In my experience, Best paid PMs in the IT industry are the ones with an overlap of technology, marketing, evangelism and influencing skills. MBA from a top tier college is an icing on the cake. In the end, It might sound cheesy but do not only go for a high salary when you are starting. Similar to eng, you will make lots of money eventually in a PM role if you acquire the right skills.
These are some of the important points which determine a product manager salary in India.
