I missed out on numerous sessions assuming that a 30-minute session would count as half, and my pauses greatly hindered my progress. I desperately needed assistance to accelerate my advancement and meet my already postponed graduation deadline. Unfortunately, I failed to meet this deadline due to changing jobs and relocating to another country simultaneously. Despite my unwavering determination to complete the program, they abruptly terminated my enrollment and confiscated my remaining mentor sessions.
During my time at DesignLab, I experienced a number of mentor issues and modifications over which I had NO influence or involvement. DesignLab disappointed me, and I’m still really upset. I had to switch mentors three times! In the midst of a capstone project, two of them. The first one suffered greatly from the mentors’ differing styles. And with the second project, I ran into the same issue once more! I was quite dissatisfied with both the quality and pace of my work.
Designlab offers a well-structured curriculum, but the course pace can be overwhelming, especially for beginners. The feedback from mentors is not always timely, and the practical assignments could be more relevant to industry needs.
