To put it mildly, my experience with SCDL has been quite frustrating. The extra 450/-for every exam attempt seems like a money grab, especially in light of the high tuition already. Exams being viewed more as sources of income than as measures of learning is depressing.
Another pain in the ass is the exam instructions. They seem purposefully created to confuse pupils rather than to support their achievement, and they are badly expressed. It’s like trying to figure out a maze without a blindfold on, and even if you do manage to follow the instructions, there’s no assurance the university won’t call off the exam at any time.
Many Indian institutions will not even consider your application for a traditional MBA if you completed your graduation through distant learning. You are solely evaluated in an interview on the basis of your qualifications and your inherent or acquired qualities from previous work experience. It will only help your resume if you have completed any online courses to advance your knowledge or sharpen your skills. I registered in and successfully finished the PGCM (Digital Marketing) program at SCDL. It is a very well-balanced course with current content and skilled, experienced lecturers.
Symbiosis used to be the first choice for an MBA through distance mode for everyone, who was not able to pursue masters through the traditional way of learning and wanted to upskill themselves. Now during and post-Covid, people seem more focused on online platforms to upskill themselves, which has given a boost to the pre-existing Online education market. The reality is that Students have seriously started taking these online courses as an alternative to thinking of online courses as job-oriented courses. However most of the EdTech have encashed this opportunity to offer job-oriented online courses, job guarantee programs etc, etc. I would like to tell you all this is not correct. All the companies prefer the regular mode of graduation or post-graduation. None of the organizations consider online mode as your qualification and it will always be an added advantage, just to say you have upskilled yourself. Jobs you will get based on your qualification – if it is an MBA (Regular) it will be treated as post-graduate and if it is MBA distance even from eMBA from IIM you will remain a Graduate. If you have done your graduation from distance learning many of the Indian institutes will not even entertain you if you apply for a regular MBA from their institutes. During Interviews, you are only judged based on the qualifications you have and the qualities that you have, inbuilt or earned by your prior job experience. If you have done any e-course to upskill or improve your techniques that will only put weight on your CV. I enrolled and completed my course PGCM (Digital Marketing) from SCDL, a very well-balanced course and curriculum is up to date and the teachers are also experienced and knowledgeable.
