They donot brother, trust me. Taking a course like this might look good on your resume and earn you a few credits, but getting a full-time job in data science is highly unlikely.
However, you may receive internship offers for beginners. Data science experience is a must. Appropriate degrees and certifications usually complement the experience. Above all, you need to have a deep desire and interest to pursue a career in data science.
Because you won’t last long without an interest in this field. One of the best options is to enroll in a Postgraduate Diploma course. The usual duration is around 11 months, but it is a very good investment. Institutions or academies offering postgraduate courses also offer you internship guidance.
Yes! Fortunately, I was working in an environment where I had a lot of data but no one was using it. I didn’t have any prior coding experience, but I picked it up on the fly via Coursera and used it to develop data science solutions for my company while working full-time.
I now make 25 LPA, which is six times what I was making 2.5 years ago when I first started working. Although money was never a motivator for me to pursue data analytics, having more is always a plus. Nobody talks about the disadvantages of working in data science, there were no female coworkers at all!
I wouldn’t bother taking classes to improve my resume, but I would gladly take them to gain more organized knowledge in a certain area. I’d like to learn more about data integration and data infrastructure, for example.
Taking a course/specialization on Coursera will assist me in creating a mind map of the essential components of every client’s infrastructure that I work with. Once you’ve created a mental map, you’ll be able to immediately see how your model may be efficiently deployed in your client ecosystem and how you can provide value.
I’ve never relied on certificates to persuade employers to hire me. I place a greater emphasis on getting valuable experiences or internships to discuss during the interview.
