The International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) will organize the 3rd yearly convention of CGIAR (earlier referred to as Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research) Platform for Big Data within Agriculture from 16th to 18th October 2019.
Delegates from India also as abroad will attend the convention, which is being kept together with the theme’ Trust: Humans, Machines kicks’.
Coordinator for Big Data Platform, Brian King stated, “We have to improve efficiency, though we should also safeguard and renew ecosystems, control climate extremes and offer with depleting soil and land resources. Reliable digital remedies are able to be by far the most important tool we’ve to go up to the challenge-if we may develop them”.
The Big Data in Agriculture Platform is co-led through the International Center for CIAT or Tropical Agriculture and the International Food Policy Research Institute or IFPRI.
K T Rama Rao, Telangana Minister for Information Technology will send the keynote standard address on the inaugural period of this convention on 16th October 2019.
Experts, local farmers, research scientists, and policymakers in data science, will have a discussion about the issues and solutions related to believe in among institutions, companies and growing human communities. The discussions will likely concentrate on technologies, which will help create a safe food future.
Brian King stated, “The meeting is going to help the stakeholders tackle complex themes of trust-building in frameworks that handle ethics, multi-stakeholder coordination, data-driven action and investment in digital agricultural technologies”.
Director-General of ICRISAT, Peter Carberry stated, “The future of food could leverage current digital systems and all those on the anvil”.
Cash prizes worth $1 million will be awarded to the winners of Inspire Challenge, who have created projects to improve the caliber of living of farmers using Big Data equipment.
An ICRISAT executive stated, “10 finalists of 2019 Inspire Challenge are already picked and will pitch the proposals of theirs to a board of expert judges. Out of these, 5 winners will get $1,00,000 each in cash prizes”.
